Creative Classroom

Welcome to the Creative Classroom at La Rue de Fleurs!

Pull up a chair, grab some fabric, and let’s make something magical! At La Rue de Fleurs, teaching is more than just instruction—it’s an invitation to explore, express, and enjoy the creative process in all its colorful, textured, and joyfully imperfect glory.

As a passionate modern quilter and fiber artist, I believe that everyone—yes, everyone!—can benefit from putting their hands (and hearts) to work in the arts. Whether we’re stitching a quilt, experimenting with mixed media, or diving into a preschool art project full of glitter and giggles, my goal is always the same: to create a nurturing and engaging environment where students of all ages feel empowered to explore their creativity and grow.

From preschool art clubs to museum-based K–6 programs and fiber arts workshops for teens and adults, I bring years of experience designing lessons that are hands-on, heart-centered, and deeply rooted in both tradition and innovation. My teaching approach blends critical thinking and creative problem-solving with a hefty dose of fun and self-expression—plus a dash of folk history and life skills for good measure.

You’ll find me teaching across central Pennsylvania through schools, museums, and community organizations, often with a needle in one hand and a story in the other. Whether we’re learning to embroider, print on fabric, mend with meaning, or just make something beautifully ours, every class is an opportunity to connect, create, and celebrate the rich world of fiber arts together.
